The Task of Quality Assurance Office (Badan Penjaminan Mutu)

Quality Assurance Office (BPM) has the following tasks:

  1. Holding a Quality Assurance System thoroughly and in accordance with socio-cultural circumstances (kepondokmodernan) and the Islamic boarding system (kepesantrenan) at the University of Darussalam Gontor.
  2. Coordinate the implementation of internal quality audit system in the framework of the Quality Assurance System.
  3. Ensure continuous improvement of quality towards the achievement of higher education performance at the University of Darussalam Gontor.

In carrying out its duties, Quality Assurance Office (QAO) has 4 (four) sectons, namely:

  1. Deputy of Internal Quality Assurance System (Sistem Penjaminan Mutu Internal or SPMI).
  2. Deputy of External Quality Assurance System (Sistem Penjaminan Mutu Eksternal or SPME).
  3. Deputy of Database and Quality Development (Pangkalan Data dan Pengembangan Mutu or PANDA).
  4. Administrative (Secretary and Treasurer).

A. Deputy of Internal Quality Assurance System (Sistem Penjaminan Mutu Internal or SPMI)

Internal Quality Assurance System section is an organ of Quality Assurance Office (QAO) led by Deputy (Deputi). The Internal Quality Assurance System section has the following tasks:

  1. Prepare quality guidelines or quality documents.
  2. Socialization of Internal Quality Assurance System to all academic community.
  3. Monitoring the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System thoroughly.
  4. Carry out training, consultation, assistance, and guidance to the units, related to the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System.
  5. Provide reporting, review, and recommendations on the implementation of the internal quality assurance system.


B. Deputy of External Quality Assurance System (Sistem Penjaminan Mutu Eksternal or SPME)

External Quality Assurance System section is an organ of Quality Assurance Office (QAO) led by Deputy (Deputi). The External Quality Assurance System section has the following tasks:

  1. Supervise the UPM and GM in terms of delivery of accreditation forms.
  2. Become a liaison between the needs of accreditation Prodi and the University with government accreditation agencies.
  3. Conducting Socialization of Quality Assurance System External to all academic community.
  4. Monitoring the implementation of the External Quality Assurance System as a whole.
  5. Carry out training, consultation, mentoring, and guidance to the units, related to the implementation of the External Quality Assurance System.
  6. Provide reporting, review, and recommendations on the implementation of the External Quality Assurance System.


C. Deputy of Database and Quality Development (Pangkalan Data dan Pengembangan Mutu)

Database and Quality Development section is an organ of Quality Assurance Office (QAO) led by Deputy (Deputi). The Database and Quality Development section has the following tasks:

  1. Develop an Online Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI Online).
  2. Develop a system and service of quality assurance data / information documentation.

D. Administration (Secretary and Treasurer)

The Administration section at Quality Assurance Office (QAO) has a duty:

  1. Provide reporting and documentation of all activities of Quality Assurance Office.
  2. Administrative activities.

Apart from these four sections, in the Quality Assurance System (but outside the Quality Assurance Office structure), there are the Quality Assurance Unit (Unit Penjaminan Mutu or UPM) and the Quality Cluster (Gugus Mutu or GM).

The task of the Quality Assurance Unit (Unit Penjaminan Mutu or UPM):

The Quality Assurance Unit is a quality assurance organization at the faculty / office / bureau level. It is formed by the Head of faculty / office / bureau stipulated or assigned by the Rector Decree.  The Quality Assurance Unit has the task:

  1. Prepare additional guidance and tools of the Quality Assurance System and internal quality audit at the faculty / office / bureau level.
  2. Implement Quality Assurance System and quality audit at faculty / office / bureau level.
  3. Provide reporting, review and recommendations on the implementation of the Quality Assurance System and internal quality audit in the faculty / office / bureau. In performing its duties, this Quality Assurance Unit has a smaller section, namely the Quality Cluster (Gugus Mutu or GM) at the Study Program / Study Center / UPT.

The Task of the Quality Cluster (Gugus Mutu or GM):

Quality Cluster is an organ of the Quality Assurance Unit established at Study Program / Study Center / UPT. The Quality Cluster has the task:

  1. Prepare additional documents and quality tools at the Study Program / Center / UPT.
  2. Conducting socialization of Quality Assurance System to all academic community at Study Program / Center / UPT level.
  3. Monitoring the implementation of Quality Assurance System at the Study Program / Center / UPT level.
  4. Provide reporting, review and recommendation on the implementation of Quality Assurance System at the Study Program / Center / UPT level.
  5. Conducting an audit and evaluation of the implementation of Quality Assurance System at the Study Program / Center / UPT level.
  6. Provide reporting, review and recommendations on internal audit quality results at the Study Program / Center / UPT level.
